Two AC adapters? Nice. That's an excellent price. Any stuck or dead pixels in that very rare UXGA 16.1" screen?

hey Myrkat
you are the right person to respond because I need some opinion about the 8887
if it's worth to keep for later upgrades (if possible m11 or so)
I don't see any deat pixels

Well, I thought about upgrading mine when the 8890's came out, but the M11 isn't enough for me to warrant the expense. I mean, even if I kept my slower (non-DDR) RAM and slower FSB processor, that's a lot for a new video card & raid.

So when I looked to upgrade, I added in a new CPU, RAM, and the base cost - it was pretty close to a whole new machine! That and I've yet to run something that this machine has trouble with (game-wise). It's plenty powerful, and I deemed it worthy to wait another year or two and then just get a whole new system.

One of the reasons I bought the best (at the time) in my 8887 was to last as long as possible, not upgrade (though that was possible). If you really need the latest and greatest stuff and have the resources, then by all means do it! The 8887 will only lose value over time, so you either sell now and buy new, or hold off and buy new (hoping to justify the TCO of the original machine).

It's a tough call, really.

Second to that on power and now-proven stability over 10 months. IMHO the 8887 has been road-tested and proven itself still a viable, useful, desktop replacement. Anyone wanting a great laptop for a VERY reasonable price ($1500 used, was $3000+ new) is getting a good deal.
