I can play in dx9 mode @ 1280x720 or 1154x864 they use pretty much the same number of pixels. My settings are high except that I turn the specular map from Extra to high and the dynamic lights to low and only 2xAA. I get 30+ fps. I could run at 1440x900 if I wanted to turn off AA shadows lower the specular and normal map settings and kill the dynamic lights completely. Making it pretty in one way by making it less detailed in another doesn't work for me.
