I'm looking for opinions about which software you use.

Ease of use, most functionality, and one that can handle all encryption codes including the newer Sony ARcooS.
Thanks

I use DVD X Copy Platinum. It bypasses commercial DVD encryption.

Thanks, but that's not available anymore.

I tried to register my copy of DVD Copy Express, but they must have shut down my access codes since 321 Studios went out of business, and the new company is of no help.

I'm still looking for other options.
Thanks

YOU can still get activated. Google is your friend.

Yeah, tried that.
After the Dawn forums gave me the info; I submitted a ticket: they said some of the activation codes were disabled/deleted and there is nothing more they can do, except sell me a $115 copy of the new and updated platinium.

Too much $$$ as far as I'm concerned, especially since it won't copy the Sony discs with ARcooS protection.

Any other suggestons?
Thanks

DVD software....

Anyone ever try any of these??.....DVDIdle Pro--- DVDX Studio---- DVD CLONER II 2.62.

The only one I know that copies Sony ARcooS protected discs is DVDIdle Pro.

I really want the ability to copy my Sony discs.

Thanks

I use DVD X copy platinum together with AnyDVD. There isnt a single movie to date that I can not copy.

Torrents are my friend.

I especially like AnyDVD's claim.....
"AnyDVD tackles Sony DRM Rootkit Virus!
If AnyDVD is installed and active on your PC, the new so-called "Sony DRM Rootkit Virus" has no access to your system and the affected audio CD appears unprotected regardless."

That was a big concern of mine: the fact Sony could install this pernicious piece of software on our systems without us ever knowing!!!!!

Can you use it independent of any other software to copy DVDs?

Thanks for the info.

Absolutely. AnyDVD ONLY breaks the copyright protection on the DVD's and thats it. With the copyright broken any dvd copy softwear will work fine because it doesnt need to break the protection itself. You can use AnyDVD with any copying softwear you choose.

Thanks prostreetcamaro for the info.
I really appreciate it.

If I understand it correctly, AnyDVD runs in the background, decrypts the copy protection, then, I'm free to copy the disc (movie) with any software I choose, even discs with the Sony ARcooS encyption?
Cheers, VB

There is a program called DVD Santa. Im not sure it that is available anymore either. I use DVD X-Copy Platinum for all of my Movie back-ups. Awesome program. Too bad it was taken off the shelves. You gotta be quick to get these things before they get banned.
