Greetings.
Well. Most have heard my ordeal about the post office losing my system. I am not going to dwell on this a lot in this thread - still irritated - but I want to keep this thread positive. But since I have yet to be reimbursed, I had to go with a scaled down version of my EX7 to ensure I can game, but within the amount of money I had. The move from Europe back to the states was not cheap on us, so money is not aplenty.
I ordered a CX7 last night from Hypersonic. The specs are as follows:
Integrated V.92 56K Fax/Data Modem
17" WUXGA 1920x1200 VividView™ Display w/ Super Clear Glossy Surface
MS Windows XP Professional CD & Manual SP2 Pre-Installed & Configured
Integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Controller
120GB 5400rpm Serial ATA Hard Drive with NCQ
Guaranteed No Dead or Partially-Lit Pixels
3 Year Platinum Warranty with 24/7 Toll-Free Tech Support
2 x 1024MB PC4200 DDR2-533 SODIMM
2.0GHz Intel® Pentium-M 760 Processor w/ 2MB Cache (Sonoma)
8X DVD ± R/W Drive Dual Layer w/ DVD Recording Software & LightScribe
Internal 802.11-Super A/G 108Mbps Wireless Network Adapter
NEW! Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX PCI-Express 256MB
Aviator CX7: 17" Centrino Gaming Notebook
Intel® Alviso 915PM+ICH6-M Mobile Motherboard (CX7)
Aviator CX7 in Silver with Tinted Brushed Aluminum Cover
Built-in High Definition 3D Sound System for CX7
I scrimped in two areas, the hard drive and the processor. But in both cases, these are items that I can replace later on if I so desire. This system is not going to be my main gaming machine, rather one that will hold me over. Keep the price low and I can get more later.
This model doesn't have the custom text or paint options. Thus, there is not going to be a lot of visual differences than the 5720.
I also went with the lower resolution because I find myself not using the higher resolution even when I get it. My eyes aren't as young as they used to be.
So I went with the comfortable level that I have grown to enjoy from the past.
Definitely looking forward to getting this system and I will follow up with a full review once it arrives. For those new, this is my third system with Hypersonic, the other two being the GX7 and the EX7. Both have reviews in the Reviews section.
Just wanted to pass on the news to everyone else!
Later.
