Hello! Borkar unfortunately I have the same problem that janiskr has. After I update my bios to that xx.xx.xx.60 version my cooler fan is always on. When I restart the computer it stills on until windows and my geforce drivers are loaded. If I uninstall the geforce drivers my fan stays on at full speed all time not just during the boot but also in windows. When I was with the xx.xx.xx.49 bios version I didn’t have that problem. Can I flash the old bios back xx.xx.xx.49 and where can I get it?
Another question. Where did you get that xx.xx.xx.60 bios version? Is it an official release from Fujitsu?

I have the new version and everything works perfect with the new version. I think it is just a driver problem. But anyway, if you really want to have the old version:
http://home.eplus-online.de/gaetcke/...nflash3949.zip

Btw, it is a official release! You get it from FSC Support if you ask for it.

Hi!

I also have this problem with my fan always on, but I discoverd what was causing this for me...
I having problem with the service nvsvc32.ex "NVIDIA Driver Helper Service" eating up my memory (this precoess keeps growing and growing once it was 170Mb!). When I dissable it my fan start's and is always on until I star the process again.

So now I can choose between the fan always on or a process eating up my memory...

try another driver version.

Hallo everybody.

I've read this threat some time ago hopeing that nothing loke that happens to me. But it did.

My amilo m3438 was working perfectly ok (fan went on and off smoothly) but I wanted to add 2nd hdd (I did) and so I had to install Windows XP HE once again.

I can't remember at which stage my fan went on and it is on till now.

Before instaling new Windows I've flashed video rom (nvwinflash3960) and I had 82.12 drivers from gaetcke www. My Notebook Hardware Monitor was also working ok (showing CPU temperature). Also SppedFan was able to do that.

For now
1. NHM and SpeedFan is unable to show CPU temperature.
2. When I push amilo's fan button (which was also working ok) nothing is happening (it is not getting blue- just like all the other extra buttons).
3. Fan is always on.
4. nvidia powermizer is unable to show level of battery charge.
5. I cannot read temperature with any soft

I was trying
1. downgradeing video rom- nvwinflash3949- without effect,
2. to uninstall nvidia drivers (to default win driver)- without effect,
3. to use some old FS reg file which was suppose to enable turning off fan- without effect.

The other thing that I didn't have on my old amilo was, in power options- Enable APM Support (which now is on).
I have the latest FS BIOS.
I forgot to tell you that I'm haveing info when exiting windows- nvsvc32.exe- memory could not be read.

What should I do? I really don't want to install Windows once again.

Thanks for help. Jacek.T. Poland.

and/or
use the original FSC-nVidia drivers of the FSC HP. Uninstall completely the old graphics driver before.

Before instaling new Windows I had the latest drivers and it was ok.
But. I've done what you said. The process was set to automatic and was enabled. I've stopped it and I had an error- nvsvc32.exe memory could not be read... Then I've started it again and... fan is on.
While runing notebook without any drivers (default windows only) fan is also on.

I have original 7.8.1.0. drivers installed now (I've previousely uninstalled old once). Nothing is happening.
Still fan is on and still I cannot read CPU temperature by any software. Still FS fan button is not working (just as the others).

Any ideas? Thanks. Jacek.

make sure (in device manager) that your notebook is installed as ACPI-PC

Hmm. Only thing that I see is Standard PC in Computer section. What I did wrong? I was instaling windows using usb fdd (cause prepared version with raid drivers with xp-iso-builder didn't work- still don't know why?!?) and remember choosing some PC version (wrrr).

Backup the most important files and do the following

klick on Standard-PC and "update drivers". Then choose ACPI uniprozessor PC and install it. Reboot and let your Windows update all components (takes several minutes! Dont touch the notebook!). After that reboot again and your fan should work properly again.

One and only problem is that when I choose Update driver- than disable downloading drivers from internet- than install from list or specific location- than don't search, I'll choose it myself-> I'm receiving windows with Select the driver you wish to install... only with StandardPC with no options leading me to ACPI (rest are Have disk or check/uncheck Show compatible hardware- no changes marked or not). Windows XP HE EN onboard.

I think I'm getting closer to reinstall Windows . Jacek.

you better reinstall windows (and take care that you install ACPI-PC which is installed by default).
Do u have SP2 installed?
