I'm trying to solve two differnt problems with my Prostar 900T. I hope this is a place where I can post these questions.

When I burn a DVD with nero it says it is giong to do 4X but as it burns it never gets faster than 2X. The buffer is bouncing around between 20%, 70%, 99% with ever progress update. I've checked the device setting and see the DVD is doing PIO, even though it is set to 'Use DMA if availiable'. In CMOS the DVD is set to AUTO and I can't change any setting for it. Any suggestions to get better speed out of my DVD Burner (Toshiba SD-R6472 firmware TU51)

Second, I've want to get 5.1 sourround sound out of the laptop as well as have a MIC. If I do 5.1 I lose the MIC jack. I'm trying to either reassign the MIC to the S/PDIF jack or move one of the other audio out channels to the S/PDIF jack. I've read up on the ALC880 chip and I believe it says that this chip supports jack sensing/reassignment. The drivers don't have the options I'm looking for. Any idea how I might pull this off. Without throwing money at it ?

Thanks
