Sager WUXGA -VS- Sony WUXGA Screen?

Thread Starter
Interested in getting a Sager with the WUXGA Res. I currently have a Sony A170 with this Res. Anyone compare the Sager to the Sony? I love my Sony screen and would settle for nothing of less quality. How does the Sager compare? I am not a gamer...

Thanks,
Charlie

Sorry - nothing out there compares to the Sony screens. They are truly things of beauty. If only the rest of the computer were of equal quality and at a reasonable price...

I'm also curious if I'd lose much stepping away from Sony.

I have an older Sager 5680 with UXGA (1600x1200). It is nothing short of phenominal. At the time (3-years ago), I was looking at Sony's, but they had nothing that came close to the wide-angle view and high contrast. I still feel it's one of the best screens I've seen on a notebook, all the new glossy screens not withstanding. I was looking at some of the current Sony's, and I still like the old Sager better.

I've seen the XBrite screens and they're just amazing. I bought a nushield for my Sager's WUXGA screen which gives it a similar sheen to it. I wouldn't say its AS good as the Sony screen, ast least not until I've seen them side by side, but its pretty close. You can check the review in my sig for screenshots.
