Audio Noise Using Power Adapter

My 8790 has now developed a bad problem with audio output noise from both the internal audio chip and my external, firewire M-audio box. The noise totally disappears when then the power adapter is unplugged from the laptop. The noise is increased with increased HD activity. It seems like there is a shielding problem.

Any ideas?

Grounding problem causing noise

I took the advise on another post and added a two-prong adapter to the three-pronger that plugs into the 110V receptacle. Noise problem disappeared completely.
