hello all, i am considering purchasing an apple laptop or desktop. i am only familiar with windows, so any help with these following questions would be much appreciated!!
1---can i use aim and yahoo messenger to have conversations/share webcams with windows users?

2--how susceptible is apple to spyware, viruses, etc??

3--any clear disadvantages/advantages of apple as compared to windows?

4--is that apple mouse easy to use? looks less comfortable than windows!!

1. Webcams work on Yahoo but not on AIM, however it is possible to use iChat to webcam with Windows AIM users.

2. There is none.

3. There is a lot of software that is not available for Mac, and if you are a serious gamer you're out of luck with a Mac. However, almost all the major software is out for Mac and PC, there are major games out for Macs, and Mac OS X is much more secure than Windows.

4. I've used the one button Apple pro mice before and they're comfortable...I've never tried a Mighty Mouse before but it's the same size and shape so I assume it will be the same. That aside, any standard USB mouse will work on a Mac, so if you do not like it you can always get another one.
