Ordering Aurora m7700. HELP! - Page 2

Yeah I heard you say that before. But you may want to run on battery every now and then to exercise...though battery technology has increased leaps and bounds. 'Memory' and just flat charging batteries to death may be a thang of the past?

Would you buy a $300.00 professional grade drill with just one battery?

Alienware's service can be up and down... I've had moments where there were huge run arounds.. speaking to several tech support agents about one issue.. I will tell you this though - Alienware's depot service, though they do often times fix the problem (sometimes not all that were spoken about), out of the 14 times I've sent my laptop in, its come back with a noticeable scratch on the surface... one time I sent it in specifically for that problem and they sent it back with cut up Alienware stickers covering the numerous scratches.. a joke? I dunno...

In contrast, there have been a few very responsive and pleasant people to talk to... the only downside to that is that Alienware's depot service is a different department altogether and often the support agent you talk to will not see the final product before shipping.

Not sure if they still do this.. but they ALWAYS reformat your computer.. ALWAYS... and about battery life.. don't expect too much :P I don't have a 7700, but any desktop replacement will give you roughly an hour to two.

Say you wanted to use a laptop like the one you were playing FEAR on to watch a DVD. Would the battery last as long as a movie would? The Area 51 makes a big deal about using the DVD without booting. It would be a shame if 3000+bucks can't replace my 200 dollar portable DVD.

games take the most battery juice because the GPU is really cooking. DVD playback isn't far behind tho.

congrats, you all contributed to a 11y/o's fantasy.

At a guess, hell no. I'd be amazed if it used the same chipset.

Hehe, will you actually be able to tell the difference on the chips? X2 V.S. FX57. I would probably not worry about hte FX chip for now. Thats alot of money you can save for something later.
