Post your 7800 Go GTX 3DMark05 scores - Page 12

If you flash BIOS with the bootdisk provided it will only affect your clocks when you are in 3d mode. Desktop, word, internet = 2d. Games such as FEAR and AOE:III = 3d. You wont be changing your 2d settings with this bootdisk, but you may consider loswering your 2d clocks. Oh yeah, movies are 2d as well.

I feel your pain K6, your card and mine must be brothers or something. I just tried 480/1250 and it crashed 3dmark05 before it finished and it was artifacting like crazy during the second test. I'm not going to bother trying to overclock this card anymore.
I belived that if you should have a 3dmark score it should be without artifacts? If not, everyone could get higher scores?
How do i downclock 2d?
Hrmm my card seems the same, i can get it stable at 450/1250 but thats it. Any higher on the core and it starts to spas out in games.
I see some artifacts. It's not really bad.
In my opinion a 3DMark Score is valid when you can pass 3DMark at that frequency.
Would you only post SuperPi 1M scores when your CPU passes 32M at that frequency as well? Your CPU produces errors ... but too small to recognize.

I see benching as a competition. (I wouldn't let my card run with higher vchip 24/7 either). So a clockspeed is stable enough when it passes 3DMark. How would you compare oc results otherwise?

Bingo, passing is the only definite way to compare, anything else is too subjective. I get almost zero artifacts at 477MHz. The core just craps out and 3DMark05 freezes. I think it's a power issue

just got a 7800 gtx go from ebay ( im in the uk)

3dMark05 says 6738 with X-treme G 81.97 drivers
Default Clock speeds

2.26Ghz cpu
2Gb ram

I did some stress testing as well. 440MHz with normal voltage is runs hours of artifactsan. 460MHz does not ... I didn't care for the rest for 24/7
Mem is at 1250MHz.

Upping to 1.4V helped a lot for the 3DMark stability in my case.

@Tanamoril
Why on earth shouldn't I start a stress test at 500/1320? It would fail, ok, but the card wouldn't get that so much hotter than with 440/1250.

Umm... pwnage?

New high for me:

8331

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1746781

Clocks were 495/1350. The core won't do 500MHz, locks up in the Firefly test (Test 2). However, the RAM is rock solid and still have plenty of room too go, might even be able to hit 1400MHz with the right temps . Anyway, I'll see if I can hit 8.5k and I'll also do an 06 run when I get some more time
post #231 of 267
Sheesh, lol ^^. for everyday, you don't use a volt mod, right?

That is pretty salty Mr. K6! Good job!

i think i figured out why im getting artifatcs in atitool with 380core with my 6800. the temps were going over 70. i set up fan gui and it doesnt get over 67 in atitool. its running solid for over 30mins so far. btw, where do you guys put the slider in the artifact scanning settings?

I haven't done a volt-mod period.

Temps and thermal contact of the core make a big difference. I have the slider all the way to the left.

i was just playin WoW and played GW and CSS lastnite with my core up at 460/1250 dont even see artifacts, only was gettin up to 88C playin WoW for 1hr.
ATI tool prob says otherwise

Guess i should try hittin 8000s in 3dmark05 too!

I think adding height to my cooler helped alot
post #236 of 267
mr.K6, what do you have your fan settings on?
2.0 CPU, 2GB OCZ, Extreme-G 81.98, OC'd to 435/1150.

7,245

Not playing any heavy games at the moment, so I haven't really tried to push it. Ghost Recon reaches 120+ FPS at 1920x768 and maxiumum everything in the graphics settings. Good enough for me!

Whatever the BIOS defaults them as; I dont run FanGUI during benchmarking in order to save a few precious CPU cycles . The secret is I benchmark in front of an open window. It was 3C here today, the CPU idled at 16C and the graphics card idled at 30C . I also remove the plates that cover the RAM and the wireless in order to get more airflow in. Heck, I could probably remove the keyboard if I really need to, but the card needs more voltage, there are no heat artifacts.

Your CPU at 2.0GHz is going to hold you back a bit. I get 4657 @ 460/1240. That benchmark today was tony's 81.98's installed with the enhanced settings. When I really go for the gold I'll install them at stock with no quality tweaks
post #240 of 267
82.12s or are 81.98s still better drivers?
