Post your 7800 Go GTX 3DMark05 scores - Page 13

go with 81.97 or 82.65, pretty much equal, and those two are the most recent (the count is weird ^^).

7800

How do you know if you have errors in ATITool? It says delta of whatever and I get yellow dots, but it says on the right, no errors for xx.xx min. What does this mean?

Scored 7801 3dmarks!!!

This is likely the only time you'd ever want 1 less in your 3dmark05 score! Installed my new pinmod yesterday and then late last night tossed in my new 7800GTX and ran 3dmark05 and got an almost perfect score only missing by 1.

Score: 7801

Yes.. I know I double posted but figured after I had already posted in the other thread this was a better place for it.
so how probable is it, if it all, for a 2.0GHz 400bus to pinmod to 2.66 533?
Not likely and definately not stable. Also wrong thread Checkout the pinmod thread....

Man, I guess 2.4 over 2.26 makes a nice difference in 3dmark05. I get like 7650ish with 455/1250. Can anybody answer my atitool question a few post up above?

Clean install of XP (no dell crap)? What driver are you using? Have you set the quality to high performance?

yes clean install of xp(mce) the newest driver of Extreme-G MobilForce

High Quality instead of performance..

is it normal, that the card heats to 82c when playing?

There's the problem, set it to high performance and turn on optimizations, should definitely give you a boost .
even with the high performance mode and the software set for 3dmark i got a 7404?
I got something like 7100~200 so don't worry about it, 3DMark05 is very CPU limited because it runs at such a low resolution, so in real life games, especially if theres AA and AF involved, we are getting the same performance as the guys on here getting 7800 Marks in 3DMark05.

I dont think a 150$ pinmod is worth 600 points in 3DMark. Maybe if i played all my games at 640x480 with no AA or AF, but thats not the case.

What makes it worth it is if you sell your other processor. You should be able to get at least $100 for it, and that much of a performance difference for $50 is definitely worth it.

nah.. its because I have a kickass modified 9300 and not a weak m170 (let it begin!!! )

LOL really though I didn't do much. I did a Ghost restore of my XP Pro system a few months ago so its not a super fresh install. I did however set my system to high performance, used msconfig to turn OFF all startup services, disabled i9kfangui and CHC and removed my desktop image and set to black. I don't use an themes which does help. Before I ran 3dmark05 I rebooted and checked processes and had 21 running.. I likely could have taken that down to about 15 if I had really tried. I started up 3dmark05 and walked away to get something to eat. Came back 10 minutes later and my eyeballs poped out at the score I saw.

Note I ran out of my AS5 a few days ago and when I installed my pinmodded 1.8 running at 2.4 I wound up having to use the blue goop that I got from Dell 2 weeks ago. Its actually really good now that I've figured how to apply it correctly. Surprisingly I have NOT modified the GPU cooling at all yet. Its still using the stock thermal pad. Over the weekend or next week I may make some changes and see if I can break 8000. I don't think it should be too hard to do.

Hope this helps you.. Good luck!

I didn't upgrade the CPU to get a higher score. I upgraded it because I needed a faster CPU for a few things unrelated to gaming. I was also able to sell the 1.6Ghz cpu for 110.00 locally and I paid 140.00 for the replacement running at 2.4Ghz. So I only paid 30.00 bucks for an 800Mhz upgrade! I haven't sold my 6800GO yet but I'm looking at getting about 120.00 for it so the upgrades have cost me very little!

Edit: The CPU upgrade just happens to have helped in getting a better score

i am at 400points before you, i will try like you, i have 30 process i could slim to 17, remove everything that disturbs the vid card i will go that 8000 points,

the problem is i am scared that the card overheats, in fear it can reach 80-82c max.

i saw that the cool down threshold is 115c.. what do you guys think ?

80-832c in fear is a fine temp for a 7800.

Max secure is 115C, but higher temps do reduce the overclock. I run at 93-95C daily in FEAR due to my overclock. I'm hoping to reduce the temps with some more cooling mods though .
