Here we go again

I called today (Nov 17th) and received the standard "we expect to receive the units from the motherboard manufacterer in about two weeks" answer which is what they have said three times now. My shipping ETA is still 12/2 on the website. I wonder if I should go by Alienware's estimate instead. I did ask if I would be charged a cancellation fee if I decided to go that route and they said yes even though they do not have the parts they would change because they reserved the parts . . .ummm, yeaaaaa. Hypersonic - 5 in the customer service scorecard. We will continue to monitor.

ratmyr, at least I take solace in having an Xbox 360 on order . . .

I was actually looking at ordering one of those as well since I haven't been able to do any real gaming in a bit. Especially since they are supposed to be out next Tuesday. Good thing to play with during the Thanksgiving break.

Last I checked my FX7's expected ship date was still 12/2, but impatience got the better of me and I went ahead and ordered a Sager 5720 (see my sig).

Originally, I planned on the 5720 being my mobile computer, but was still going to get the FX7 as my stay-at-home DTR (a hate all those damn cords that come with desktops - with a passion!!!).

But with the latest drivers, my 5720's 3DMark 05 score is 6910 (friggin' sweet) - with no significant heat output and around 1.5 hours of battery life when gaming (more when just browsing/downloading). And for less than $3K!!!

So now I'm seriously considering not getting my originally ordered Hypersonic FX7, or at least waiting until a few of them have been out long enough to read some reviews, and maybe even wait for the price to drop a bit.

Hypersonic is now offering the same system (for about $300 more than Sager), I believe it's the CX7. If you guys want a good gaming rig without the wait, you may want to consider the 5720 (aka CX7). I ordered the 5720 from Sager on the afternoon of 11/5, sent them my wire transfer on the morning of 11/6, and received the system by 9:00 am on 11/7. When I ordered, Sager was very upfront in telling me what parts they had in stock, what parts they didn't, and how much of a delay would result from ordering a system with out-of-part stocks. I do not feel that Hypsersonic has been upfront with me at all - I get the feeling they knew from the beginning that the original expected ship date of 11/14 was a bunch of crap.

Argh!! I can't play video games without a keyboard and mouse. Tried the COD 2 demo, got frustrated at using the controller, and walked out.
DB if there is anything I can do to speed up the process, I will. That includes other posters, even if they don't have scary looking little people in their sigs.

Congrats on the system Hoss - will have to look for your review.

I went the route of the CX7 and definitely looking forward to getting it. Not as powerful as the FX7, but as you stated above, the consensus seems to be that it is a good gaming rig. I didn't go with the same processor as you have, but nonetheless, I expect to be able to enjoy it. Plus - I can always update the processor later.

I love HyperSonic and all, but they cannot legally charge you a cancellation fee on a product if they do not ship within 30 days of placement of the order. If you pay with a credit card and you have not received the product at that time, the ball is in your court at that point.

That being said, I would highly recommend sticking it out since you will most likely be happy that you waited in the end.

I plan to stick it out.
Damn, does my rig come with the 10 in 1 card reader?

Damn Microsoft should come out with a wireless keyboard for the 360

LOL. Date shipped to 12/12 today. Also had a message on my answering machine from Hyper (first call from them, I emailed asking for free overnight shipping since they had not kept me in the loop so far and had slipped me).

DB I am sorry to hear about your dilemma, but I am glad to hear that your going to stick it out...atleast for a little while longer.

I know everyone is raving about the xbox 360 but I am going to bow down and wait for the P3, sony isn't going to let me down....360 does look sweet though.

Darth, you are a better, more patient, understanding man than I am. I know we were supposed to support each other in times of weakness, but I have bailed on Hypersonic.

After three pushed-back ship dates, not being kept notified, being given inconsistent reasons for the delays, and a general feeling that Hypersonic Customer Service really didn't give a crap about me or my $5k order - I have cancelled my order.

Seeing as how I now have my Sager 5720 to tide me over, I'm going to wait until these systems (Hypersonic FX7, Alienware Aurora m7700, etc) have been out a while, read some reviews, and take some time in deciding who to go with.

Darth, you've stated that despite your history with Alienware, you feel that Hypersonic currently offers a better line of laptops. Was this simply because Hypersonic was the only one at the time offering the AMD's X2 with Nvidia's 7800? (Which they were really only offering as a pre-order, even though they wouldn't admit it.) Once Alienware's Aurora m7700 is available (not pre-order, but has actually been out a while), would you still feel Hypersonic is better? Why?

I think you will be basically the same components if you order from VooDoo,Hyper,AW,FNW or even Sager. The differences are in customer support and cosmetics. Hyper offers the cosmetics that AW does not (variety of high-quality paints and custom graphics). In terms of customer service, I think both are great. You might ask how I can say this when I started this thread with a minus five CS rating for Hyper? Well, I returned their call and they not only apologized they also offered me <<nice bonus>> as their way of saying sorry in a tanglible manner. That is good customer service. I reverse my - 5 and add + 10 with an extra + 3 charisma points.
Now if Hyper would:
1. Make Gamespot get me my Xbox 360 faster
2. Make Sony Online Entertainment recind the recent changes to Star Wars Galaxies
3. Give me a year's supply of Enzyte

I would really be happy.

BTW: I am not a bigot. I plan to get a Playstation 3 as well.

Well my patience got the better part of me. My order was delayed for the fourth time today so I decided to cancel. I just recently sent them an email. I figure I may as well just wait and get what i really want either a FX7 or 9750. If you would like to speed up the process for me Pat I would be very gracious.

Please PM me your order number.
