7800GTX Overclocking for Idiots--BOOTDISK download Included! - Page 12

Hallo,
I'm from German, so my English is not very well.
Have you ever checked your temperatures after overclocking?
Look at my Tempartures(GPU @ 450 /1200)
I think ~90 °C isn't very good for the GPU.
But I have no Problems during I were Gaming.

sL = shop lifters clan ?

at 445/1200 I hit 88C. 90C just enters the dangerous zone.

I tried catching up, but that's a lot of reading, so hope you won't mind me asking..

Are all these OC procedures for the go 7800 GTX, or will any of that work on the stock go 7800?

Has anyone tried? Results? Is it worth it? I don't want to go very high performance, maybe get my 7800 on par with the 7800 GTX stock..

That's not 90C, looks more like 87-88C, however, anything below 100C is fine for these cards. As always though, the cooler, the better. Have you tried applying AS5 to the core?

Black_Barney- do you have the new E1705? It'd be great if you could post a review on it with pics, many people are wondering about it . The 7800Go might be able to just overclock using non-Dell drivers alone, which is the easiest way to do it. Install one of the Xtreme-G drivers from www.tweaksrus.com and go to the overclocking tab in your video card's control panel.

The temparture of the CPU were 3°C lower und the GPU 5°C

Here I have some picture's, but the explaining were only in German

Ordered, not delivered yet.. I'd love to write a review, but I'm sure one of you guys will beat me to it

Thanks for the tip.. I *thought* I could do it through drivers, but everything I hear says "flash bios".. Maybe to unlock additional pipes?

Anyone know what's toned-down in the 7800 vs the 7800 GTX?

In other words... 1/3 of the pipes have been removed.

320 core w/ 20 pipes vs 400/24

only my guess though

I haven't learned my lesson until I have a bad flash again, which I don't think will happen. I also replaced my sony dvd drive with a nec 6650, not that that was the problem to begin with, but you never know. I replaced it because of the noise mostly, not that it wasn't working, although I had some clicking from it earlier when trying to burn a dvd.
Man my games run awesome. And I get 68xx with stock Dell drivers. I think I will wait until games are slowing me down to try a flash. I would just cry if my beautiful 7800 GTX crashed and burned!

Good luck with your new card and all other cards being put to the test.

UltraTobias, that is your post? How in the *world* did you overclock the processor, and what did you do with your ram?!?

Plus, anyone know where i can get a german version for the a04/05 BIOS? or can i just use the english one? thanks,

Franz (P.S.: Searching dell site only gave me english)

I get it. He's using the E1705 and pinmodded a 780 in. Very nice!
That would be great if we could OC the CPU

Okay, looked over it again and nothing is making sense. The 780 pinmod does but only if thats a 9400, but then you see the XPS MB and pics. then again you see the 9400 RAM, interstingly it looks to have cooling plates attached to it. He also could have put the 7800gtx in instead of the 7800 go.... I'm just so confused @_@;;;;

German Dell Site:

http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/de...=de&l=de&s=gen

EDIT: NVM your right there doesn't seem to be a german BIOS.
by searching the dell site i meant the german one ^^. Found it anyway, im stupid. Drivers and downloads... my brain's getting slow :P. Should i install the a07, or the a04 (would be hard to find tho ^^)
I was looking through the Dell German site. There is a BIOS update but I saw it in the english language selection not the german selection.

Glad you found it though. A07 would be better but I've never even heard of that being released before. Shouldn't A06 come after A05 anyways? Link?
Huh, ok, screw that ^^. a07 was the chipset driver, meant to ask a05 or a04.

yeah damnit, only english again. Well, my *system* is german, but my *BIOS* is english... ill just go with english.

€dit: K, english works fine^^, good to know. Now, my fangui can't read my graphic card temperature... what should i do, thx.
re-install. This was a problem posted in another thread somewhere. If the re-install doesnt work then I think it would be an option in BIOS that switched when the new version was installed.

Holy crap Tobias, how did you pin-mod to 166MHz? What chipset are you using? How did you get DDR2-667 RAM? Man I'm intrigued, tell us all!
