Thanks for the tip.. I *thought* I could do it through drivers, but everything I hear says "flash bios".. Maybe to unlock additional pipes?

Anyone know what's toned-down in the 7800 vs the 7800 GTX?
The BIOS flash for the Go 7800GTX is to overclock it because Dell locks the card via the BIOS to prevent any software overclocking. The 6800Go does not have this lock, so I'm hoping that the 7800Go does not have the lock either. Based on fill rates and 3DMark05 scores, it seems that the 7800Go is a 16 pipe card with ~300MHz core clock.

Ok guys he cant talk now, he had to leave... ill be checking the german site... what he said so far was that we NEED 667mhz RAM and i think a new mobo... or some part. Didnt go into detail there. We need some features of the 667 mhz mobo (the one that supports the RAM, logically, think it's the 955?).

€dit: Ok, he said that it reaches 68°C with load @ 2.8ghz. He's also running it with 1.45V. Says it works, but he's only tried it 2-3 minutes for benchmarks. He can change the FSB, because his contact at Dell did something for him.

Sweet, we have a translator, nice work Master_Axe. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting some more info on this

K buddies, we got work to do, its 9:30 pm (school/college). :/ All he added apart from that, is that our mobos will end up being very similar to that of the 9400 (the 955 or 945, whatever it uses)

This going to come to soddering, I just know it. I guess I'll be out

Btw... he didn't. He has since changed his Sig after being asked for screen shots and proof of overclock. =/
post #251 of 487
Well, I'll hold him to his word until he says otherwise. His 3Dmark05 score is the highest I've seen, but still seems low for such an overclock.
I see still the same signature ...

He didn't say that he ran 3DMark05 at 2822MHz. When it's not pinmodded but really overcockable he could have run at ~2550MHz and his score would be quite right.

Yet I'd love to see a prove of this. That would we could place e.g. 9400's mobo into XPS.

Miltenberg (where he lives) is 157km away from where I live ... ^^

*lol*, guys, his sig has ALWAYS been the same... my guess is that JaxChris just saw this, and thinks ultratobias' sig used to be different. @JaxChris: page before this, scroll up, click the link ultratobias gave. That's what we're all after. A quick question: What did he do with his ram, he like put it in foil? Copper?

It's still the same.

Look a page before!

That's what i said . My guess is you don't like divulging your secrets when you're being accused by someone who didnt do RESEARCH...

^^ danke .

€dit: What the heck am i doing wrong, im not an idiot: I burned the .iso file to my CD, but when i select the drive from the boot menu, there's that blinking thing at the top left, but then it loads windows >-<. Should i smack the enter button or what? burned wrong...? All burning an .iso file is pretty much extracting all the files (using rar) and burning them to the cd...? I burned it using nero, just doubleclicked it (i've *NEVER* written *ANYTHING* on *ANY* CD before). Do i have to select that option that says the disc is finished afterwards, no more burning? That's the only thing that would make sense, but i don't wanna risk it (BTW, googled it already ^^)

Tobias please show us a CPU-Z Screen and "Systemsteuerung -> System -> Leistung" beside so we see it's really an XPS. (Make black boxes over Ident Key).

You have something very very extraordinary!
oha, is ja höchst interessant.

He says the contact he has doesn't wanna tell, scared he'd lose his job. He is certain though that we can use the 9400's mobo.

€dit: Someone wanna answer my question, last post last page ^^.
