7800GTX Overclocking for Idiots--BOOTDISK download Included! - Page 22

damn nice core clocks. I run my 24/7 at 430/1200. This is stock refernce clocks for regular desktop 7800GTX cards. I tried 450 on the core it was no go, but ram should be to 1250, I just see no reason to run it near max for an extra 2% preformace.

Pio/DMA

thaddyusmaximus,

ya in the device manager it's in the IDE/ATAPI controllers
Primary or Secondary IDE Channel setting>right mouse click-Properties> Advanced settings---> choose DMA instead of PIO

MR K6 - still wondering about the Voltages up from 1.42 say to 1.62 from the chart

Have a good one

Ace Daffy,

I figured it out. It was already set to DMA if available. I tried many attempts to set to PIO mode reboot, then set to DMA and reboot and still no go. The only way I got it to work was to uninstall the secondary IDE Controller. Works fine now. Whoopeee!!!

I'm currently waiting to talk to Dell about a replacement card...

Is there ANY way to bring the laptop back to life ?

I guess it's my bad.

Thanks for any idea !
Maybe we should try running these on flash drives. Maybe the CD's got scratched for some reason.

Okay so I finally went ahead and overclocked my 7800 go gtx. So my question is being that i clocked it at 440/1250 and having the 84.25 v2.30 driver from tony should I apply some sort of cooling internally for my system? As of right now everything is factory and I just don't feel comfortable opening my brand new M170 just yet. And yes I know by me even thinking of overclocking this and that I should of been thinking about cooling this whole time but I just don't see a big heat difference between stock to now for me to justify any cooling aids. Please let me know what you guys think and or should I just bring back my clocking to normal. Thanks in advance.

Just Curious, does the overclock ISO contain the latest BIOS for the 7800GTX or would we be "downgrading" the BIOS if we just got ours?

thanks

The Iso just contains the Original Video BIOS just with modified clock settings.

I wonder if this adds any bugs, etc, to the newer cards? (from an older BIOS upload).

Now that I got my pinmod and voltmod 2.4 Ghz Pentium M working great, next step is the 7800GTX overclock.

Yeah is the current BIOS basically the same as the one in the OP? I'm waiting to try it

So...no new BIOS with edited clocks?

hi i would like to ask

I see that people here add "c" to behind their tempeture. It's celcius right? I got confused coz i see things like 90c and tats pretty high temperature for graphic card. sorry if i sounded stupid
post #432 of 487
bump
Yeah C is celcius. They are rated to 115c, so 90c is within the normal operating limits

Got this in my E1705. Iti s working flawlessly now at 440/1200. I will see how high I can get the clocks stability wise. Funny thing is I was in here when this thread began so this will be my second time through but this time with dual core

Anyone have an alternate link to the ISO, Rapidshare is giving me SH!T. Also wondering what clocks you you guys been pushing your cards to, I ran some tests through the NVIDA control panel and I get up to a max of 489/1300 before any errors, thinking of running it at 480/1250 for safety sake.

Not to worry pulled down nibitor.v2.9 & nvflash off the web. Booted off my memory stick, backed up my current bios using nvflash and edited it with nibitor to get the clocks right. Running now, still tweeking clocks though I was getting some glitches at 480C1300.
how do u read ur bios on nibitor 2.9? and also, how would i go about voltmodding?
