modular flex bay?

when ordering my 5320-C from PCTorque, if i select the Media Bay Options for a "Bay 2 Battery" does that mean I get a battery instead of a media drive? The pictures on the sager website says 'Modular Optical Device Bay allws for DVD-ROM device to be exchanged with optional 2nd HDD or second battery pack." I was confused because I was under the impression that there was a "flex" bay to put a second hdd or battery in addition to having an optical device drive. Are my original thoughts true?

No you get both the dvd and battery. The flex bay is the bay where the dvd drive is. You need to remove the dvd to use the flex bay battery. See here:

As far as I know, you're going to get an optical drive no matter what, but if you order the second battery you'll get both the second battery and the optical drive and will need to swap them out (i.e. you cannot have the optical drive and second battery in at the same time).

So there's only one bay, and it's used for either the second battery or optical drive.

Edit: Beat to it.

so is i just better to get a spare battery, which, correct me if I'm wrong, switches out with the stock battery? i intend to be using my optical device bay while needing mobility and batetry power.

Yeah, just get the spare battery that swaps out with the main battery then.

That is only if you are using the flex bay. Otherwise you will probably have to shut down to switch main batteries as when you remove the battery there goes the power=automatic shutdown.
