8887 modem replace

Hiya all

I have an 8887 and am consdering changing the modem.

How much of a challenge does this present?

I want to install a voice/fax/data modem so I have voicemail support.

PS >> I just read the manual and found no information on the modem.

it is a win-modem which means that windows drivers do most of the work. You are probably better off with an external modem - they do a much better job.

Thanks, Aussie

I have an external TrendNet voice/fax/data 56k modem that I've been using with the 8887 and was intending to just replace the internal modem. One less thing to lug around.....

Hi

I also just got an email from PCTorque and they recommended a PCMCIA card. So, for some, that might be another option for adding voicemail capabilities.
