Sager 8886

Thread Starter
I just purchased my Sager 8886 from powernotebooks and can't wait untill it gets here but I have a question about the SXGA screen.

I read in many places that most gamers dont set their monitors past SXGA anyways when they play games and as for having UXGA on the desktop at all times, I have less than perfect vision. I am a big gamer so if indeed there is a huge difference in quality between SXGA and UXGA I would like to know... Did I waste my money getting an SXGA screen?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hehehe... a textbook example of cognitive dissonance.

Don't worry, you'll be happy with your 8886. In its highest resolution, you'll enjoy all games. Besides, you'll get higher frame rates and performance than in UXGA.

Since this thread is named after the 8886, I thought I'd pose some questions about it. Anyone who has it, if you could please post your experiences with it, that would be AWESOME. Like have you tried taking it on the road? Keeping it in your lap? Any heat problems? Any battery times? Etc etc. The review posted by PCTorque was great in answering some of these questions, but I was wondering if any users had other input and more longevity responses. Thanks a ton!
