how to use nvidia forceware instead of dell drivers

Thread Starter
I have a new M170 with Media Center Edition 2005. I tried upgrading to the new nvidia drivers for my Geforce 7800 GTX Go, but when I run the mobility drivers from nvidia it says I do not have compatible hardware or something. How can I use something besides Dell-released drivers?

Thanks.

I have the same issue with my modded 9300.
Any help would be appreciated as well.

I use the regular desktop drivers from Nvidia (instead of the Geforce Go driver).

1) Download the driver from Nvidia
2) Download the matching INF file from www.laptopvideo2go.com
3) Extract the Nvidia driver, just ignore the install that says you have no matching hardware and exit the install.
4) Copy the laptopvideo2go INF file into the extracted folder that was created by the Nvidia drivers.
5) Run the setup executable in the extracted folder that you just copied the INF to.

Some people like to remove the old drivers first (uninstalling the drivers and then run Driver Cleaner to make sure the old drivers are gone).
