Updated drivers/bios

Thread Starter
OK, finally got hard drive reformatted, updated XP to SP2, installed various programs (firewall, spycatchers, anti-virus, ms office, etc.). I also installed the updated Catalyst mobile drivers. Now my question is what else should I look for to update drivers, bios, etc.

If you e-mail sager tech support @ TechSupport@SagerNotebook.com with your model and serial number they will send you the latest BIOS. They just e-mailed me 2.02b two days ago (I thought 1.05 was the latest but apparenly they have moved on).
I mainly updated to get to see if NX options were available for my OSX partition but it seems like nothing has really changed in the BIOS.
THe latest fan BIOS (KBC) is still 1.00S2

If that doesn't work for you you can PM me with your email and I will send you 2.02b

Edit: I now see I have missed out on this discussion in the Sager Main area

I just discovered that from the site of Eurocom the BIOS version
2.02 (with no "b"!) can be downloaded freely. The link is:

http://www.eurocom.ca/support/driver...K/D47KR202.zip

This BIOS is formally for Eurocom model D470K Python,
which is just one of the names of Sager 4750.

The difference with v.1.05 is described there as follows: "Added PXE support".
Does anybody know what "PXE" means?

zdravey vlado,

I downloaded the eurocom BIOS, but I cannot install it. When I run the EXE file it says "Cannot flash if Memory Managers (e.g. EMM386) present". I have tried booting into Safe mode and I get the same error. I also made a Bart PE boot up disk with the BIOS files, but when I attempted to run them, nothing happened. I'm really stuck on this.

Ok I am past that error but now I have a different error. Now I get a "Unable to open - D:\D47KR202\BIOS.WPH ... I do not have this file anywhere.

Zdrasti Ogi How did you guessed I'm from Bulgaria too?

First, I could not guess which version of flasher you've been using:
DOS version (Phlash16.exe) or Windows one (Winphlash).
Only DOS version worries about EMM386. On the other hand,
Winphlash's default BIOS file is just called BIOS.WPH.

I myself have only used Winphlash to update my old Medion Bios
(Cmk015.rom) to the new Eurocom Bios 2.02.
When one starts Winphlash, one is to replace the default file name
(BIOS.WPH) in appearing Winphlash window
by the actual one: "....\D47kr202.rom",
where "...." stands for the path to BIOS file.
Then Winphlash proceeds with no errors.

You mentioned being from Bulgaria is another topic. I just happened to remember.

I dont' have the windows BIOS Flasher, that would be really handy if I did.

When can I get winphlash?
