Inspiron 6000 or 630m/m140?

Hi,

My laptop recently died and its time to move on to another, so I am trying to decide between these two models.

I look to the m140 because we had a few m170's come into my work, and the screen is REALLY nice. Now I know that the video card on the m140 isnt as good as the m140, but I dont plan on using the laptop for gaming. I would be using it for school work, photoshop, and webpage design. For normal everyday use, will the screen on the m140 look as nice as the m170?

My next question is... would you pick the m140/630m or the 6000, and why?

m170 ... honestly, it really depends on your own preference (size, weight, battery life..) and most importantly availability of funds... with my budget at that time, i went with the 6000d.. great for casual gamers, perfect size and weight (for me), best of all, more value for your buck... my advice.. just get what you want and enjoy your laptop.. and if it doesn't work for you, remember, there's always ebay .. happy notebook hunting!!

Unless you need a lot of portability, go with the 6000. It's bigger than the m140, but has the option of a better video card (helpful for photoshop) and a bigger screen. Also, the WSXGA+ screen on the 6000 looks very nice.

There won't be a huge price difference. If you really need a smaller and lighter laptop though, get the m140.

Just keep in mind that the 6000 doesn't have the "true life" screen option that you sound so fond of, while it's an option on the M140/630m.
