Sager probably wont let you upgrade your 4880 to this card. They'll probably be making a whole new model for this card.

Unless you meant get a new lappy. In which case go right ahead. This card does sound tempting though....

Mines not a sager, its clevo name branded.

I know its the same as the 4880/1 but the place i got from mine from are hoping that they will be able to get upgrade units for it if clevo make them available.

So hopefully if sager do a new model with it then i'll be able to get one too!

Well I'm officially holding off my notebook purchase for this, considering its basically a high end card in mainstream laptops...

Dell better put this card in the 6000!

Yes, it will be on a par with the x800! But i wouldn't expect to see this card in any notebook before Feb.

damn you nvidia, ME WANT 7600!

this sucks. i cant buy ATI cause of their crappyass drivers and im sick of waiting to get a laptop.

oh well, i can only hope that the 7600 will get higher than 4k cause im already getting about 3500 on my 6600gt desktop and it isnt cutting it with the newer games at 1400x1050.

Hmm, is there going to be an X1700 a little later down the road, like there was with the X700 becoming quite a bit more powerful than the X600?

I agree. Seeing this in the Acer or Asus line would be HAWT.

Who knows, but I would expect a X1800 to replace the X800 in DTRs. From product roadmap that I have seen. It seems that the X1400 will be the mainstream replacment for the X600 and budget X700 line with the X1600 as the replacement for highend X700. There will also be a X1300 line that will replace the current X300/X200 lineup.
there probably wont be an x1700 cause the x600 was just a rebranded 9600xt which sucked compared to the nvidia 6600(this is for desktops, the ntoebook version could be totally different).

same happened in the generation before that, when nvidia made the fx5700 cause the fx5600 was a POS compared to the 9600xt

if the x1600 can keep up with the 7600go, then we wont see anything new from ati. if it cant, then ati will have to get a better product out there or risk loosing marketshare to nvidia.

I already heard that ATI is releasing ATI 99000000000000XXL 512MB
Jeez when will the race end.
How soon are we talking about? Like within one month or more along the lines of 2-3 months?

FWIW, I've been saying that laptops with Yonah and X1600 256MB will be available by the end of Dec but it seems that Yonah delivery have slipped a bit so figure Mid to late Jan.
