The pin mod works! Stable at 800mhz but not at 2.26. Any suggustions?

Are you undervolting, you should just bump up the voltage a bit more.

Title is only slightly misleading if it's not stable at 2.26GHz. What can you do? As the previous poster said, if you're undervolting, then don't. Otherwise, you could try to do the pin mod for higher voltages, but I honeslty wouldn't recommend it. There's not really too much you can do.

make CHC or RMclock keep you at a 16x multiplier MAXIMUM even when in dynamic switching.

I got my 1.8 running at 2260 max, if I hit 18x, Im slightly unstable, but stable enough to boot in windows 99.9% of the time without crashing and load RMclock and tune down to 17x

My fight against pin modding has been lost. I give in. How do you do it?

heck i am using that speed w/o doing pin mod hehehe

THe problems running @ 2.26 are:
unable to bump up voltage or lower votage with CHC or NHC as the max x## is 17 @ 1.340 v.
AT default votage, system will crash during stress tests like 3dmark2001 demo/benchmark, sisoft, etc. system usally crash (blue screen) few minutes into the tests.
Also tweaked the bios "intel speed step" settings: disable, Max, Min, Auto; Automatic CPU votage adjust: Disable, enable, still no luck.

I'm thinking a bios update may be needed??

Oh yeah, when I try to lock the max speed @ 16 or what evern it will lock up.

If you take out the heatsink and sand it down really smooth like a baby's butt...then apply AS5, you could take that voltage down one or two more niche.

It has been done by a few people on the Z71v, including myself.

get a 400mhz FSB dothan, stick a wire in one the holes at the bottom and put it in and it OC's to 533mhz FSB.

theres a guide on this site.

its best to use either 1.5ghz or 1.6ghz dothans though cause 1.7 and 1.8 ussually dont work very well.

i thought 1.7s were great.

Though my 1.8 runs smooth at 17x133.
