Omnibook XE3...HARD DRIVE ISSUES

I upgraded my hard drive from 20 to 30gigs. However, when I went in to do a clean install of windows it reads that my partition is still 19gigs...and then it won't let me go any further..can't create a partition..can't install XP...it gives me the option to press "Enter" to install XP but when I click "Enter" nothing happens...tried with a couple of different HDD's but still nothing. Tried Fdisk and all still nothing..Would very much so appreciate anyone who can help me with this situation. Thanks ahead of time.

Its possible the system cant handle anything over 20GB... have you checked the BIOS?
