Enjoy your computer ... One question: What is DPA?
DPA is Dell Preferred Account. Its basically a dell credit card. I got one when i ordered my laptop on saturday. My interest rate is insanely high though. Its 26.99%. Luckily i got the no interest til january 2007 financing promotion though (main reason i ordered the laptop).

buddha...nicely done, missed that one

Hi all. I've been lurking around these boards for the last few days to get some hints and pointers on a laptop purchase, and I have just finally signed up.

This is my first laptop purchase and if it hadn't been for this forum I wouldn't have a had a clue on what to get or where. After reading several posts here, I came up with the following order. I seem to be in the ballpark with the above configurations and prices. My only concern is that I only opted for the M 750 processor (1.86ghz). Any opinions on this purchase?

Finally pulled the trigger a moment ago with the $750 off coupon. I also received a $50.00 personal off coupon in the mail just before pulling the trigger (how timely).

Anyway, I got the 760 processor, gig of ram, 60 gig 7200 rpm hd, xga display, the go 6800 and dvdrw. Total of $1355 out the door.

Hope I did the right thing, because the only thing I'll use this for is gaming. After reading tons of favorable and obviously unbiased reviews on this forum, I finally did it. I've been scouring the outlet for about a month now, but it seems that the price difference is almost negligible between outlet and new.

The only thing that I think I might regret is not getting the true life display.

Current rig:
Dimension 8300 P4 3.0 800 fsb w/ HT
120 Gig HD sata 7200 rpm
1 Gig ram
ATI x800xt pe video card
19" Viewsonic VA912b LCD

You sure did well. TruLife..it depends. I have TrueLife on my 700m and I got spoiled. TrueLife was the entire reason I sold my gorgeous 6000D and got 9300.

Now I am jealous. My 9300 was around $1200 shipped, but I put no less than $400 into upgrades.
However, I have quite a few spare parts by now.

Look at my sig for specs.

Congratulations and welcome to the club!
