Overclocking the Mobility X700? - Page 2

post #21 of 27
I got 8101 (with P-M 1.6). Overclocks to 400/400 no prob. (stock is 300 350). CPU also undervolts to 0.7 on 6x multiplier and to 9.4 on 12x, so, I guess, I am quite lucky. My "record" in 3dmark05 was around 2700-2800, which is quite good considering CPU is 1.6

Overclocked with "Centrino hardware control". It's a pathetic .net app (as the whole crap from ATI is, wtf I got CLI runtime to eat my ram because ATI doesn't have money to hire normal programmers?) but for one time configure and forget it isn't bad. Real testing of where the card can be pushed I did with some other ati card specific tool, which had an automatic mode, it would raise the clock render some scene and test for artifacts.

With powerstrip 420/360 only for games
In ferrari 4005 standard.

No problems for now
PD I recomend force the refresh. Works better

maybe powerplay is interfering with your OC program:

when you are on battery powerplay will clock your graphic card lower to consume less but your oc program wants to set them higher ,... see where this is going..

I used Ati tool and:
Core 420/Mem 360 3dmark03 -> 5763 from the 5120 marks@stock

Well in the end I didn't OC my card. Somehow it wouldn't let me do it. So I sent my notebook back in (for the second time) because of the artifacts, then I got it back, they have changed the motherboard and now it works perfectly. Now I can also OC it, but I won't, cause it runs all my games perfectly.

Overclocked my x700 mobility in my Ferrari 4005... just some initial playing around, but went from around 6000 in 3dmark03 to ~6900. Core 350 - 400 Mem 330 (660) - 371 (742) No artifacts... Also, replacing the ddr 333 with ddr 400, and upping the FSB to 400 with A64 Tweaker was nice too.

I'd imagine I'll easily get a free 1000 (03)3dmarks, is that worth it? Yeps.
