loose laptop screen

Thread Starter
I have a really old laptop that Im not even using any longer. Its a satellite 2595cds anyways. The screen on it cannot stand on its on when I put at angle bigger than 90-95 degrees. It will just fall over and hit the table . I was just wondering if it would be hard to take it apart and adjust or at least look at what is causing the hinges to fail? Is there any documentation I can use to disassemble the laptop? Thanks for the help

I had the same problem in my Satellite 4200, and my curent 4030 is doing the same thing only at about 100 degrees. There is a metal support where the bottom case unites with the screen case. Theoratically it's hold by a few screws. Find that metal piece and see if it is a screw, or a loose "nit-screw" (don't know the exact english word for it - they ususlly use those kind in metal structures and airplanes).
But I will look at it when I go home (and I don't forget )and see if I can figure it out how can be adjusted!
