4750 Roboticy sound

I own a 4750 3400+ 2GB Ram DVD burner yada yada yada and my sound out of nowhere started to sound like a robot now. I cannot figure out why. It is not a blown speaker for it is coming from all of them. Any suggestions? I read the Static issue and someone mentioned the IR port. I disabled that still didnt do anything. This thing has been working seemless for over a year.

I have also noticed i do get a random shut off if i move the pc alot while it is on and I also am having trouble with slow slow slow ripping speeds for DVD. The burns are taking just as long and for CDRs they keep failing.

Any suggestions? I am about to write some zeros to my HDD but i'd rather not! HELP!!!!

Could you provide some more information?

Do you recall the first time it started sounding like this?

-Were you in the middle of using it, or did you come back one day to it like this?
-What does it sound like? Can you hear correct sounds, they just sound tinny? Is the sound just random noise, and you don't hear anything you are supposed to?
-Are you running any program such as CrystalCPUID that manages processor speeds? My sound gets all distorted if I set my voltages too low... if you don't know, you don't have it.
-Try reinstalling the sound drivers. Get them at http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/n...oductType=4750
-Check you Event Log ( Start-> Run -> "%SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc /s" ) . Check for any Warnings or Errors under both Applications and System. System is more likely to point to hardware problems if you have lots of errors under there.

The Sound problem is happening on any audio on the PC CD or DVD, or anything on the internet. The Windows splash and everything works fine.

Here is what it sounds like : http://www.wickedstylz.com/dan/sound...during mp3.wav

Here is everything that is processing. (this does happen even when i am not running any aps.) http://www.wickedstylz.com/dan/processes.jpg

I have done nothing to clock or manage processes.. This all started out of the blue.

I do not see anything in the even log to show anything that has to do with sound or speakers. Most failures were IE and BLUETOOTH

So all sounds work fine except music and dvds and such? Does it have anything to do with the volume of the music (it's obviously not speaker distortion, but still is there a correleation?) Do you have any recording devices hooked up to your computer? Try going to sound manager and muting your microphone (it's a long shot, but worth a try).

Also, try going to control panel, selecting Sound Effect Manager, and try different speaker configurations.

From your sample wav file, it sounds like it is only bass that's distorted?

It seems like you are encoding a DVD in your process list... does the sound distortion occur when your processor is not at 100% usage?

And another 'probably-won't-help-but-worth-a-try', you could try posting a HijackThis log (Get hijackthis from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html ) to check if anything is running that shouldn't be.

Otherwise, I'm basically out of ideas... what if you play a non-mp3 file format, such as uncompressed wav... do those sound okay? Maybe try a new mp3 codec?

Get the new realtek drivers and load them after you unistall your current drivers. Also try an uninstall and reinstall of the app that is making your MP3's

Volume does not have an effect on this. It is almost everything not Windows "ding" related. No sound anything.. I tried the Sound man and disabling Mic. No go

I checked to see if it was Bass and UH it is working now? This has been going on for like 2 weeks now it stopped. I did not do anything... Hmmm...

Intermittant problem maybe. Stay tuned and we'll see

THANKS SO FAR GUYS!
