Well both orders I'm waiting to see are 1440x900 WXGA+ screens... not the truelife. And one is with 1gig and the other is with 2gig.

Also, according to their "procedure" if they don't have all the parts when they are "Kitting" your order... then it won't be touch until all parts are available!

Regardless they are backed up! With so many people ordering just from this one forum it isn't any wonder. I guess I will just have to be patient, I have to send the 9300 I am using back tomorrow though so I was hoping to have the new one by the weekend. Not gonna happen now but for the difference in options and price I can wait! Hopefully I will have it by mid week next week.

The only other possiblity is that the Notebook was built and tested and ready to be boxed, but waiting on something silly like a remote control which they might be out of. I orded mine with the remote.

I dont know I got the 700m with 1200x800 resul Pentium m 2.0 cpu with 512 memory. I dont know if this is considered truelife.

noesis, your 700m screen will come with Truelife because it is the option available for the 700m!!!

Guess what ? After my order has been in boxing stage for 3-4 days. I checked the status and it is back to in production. They unchecked the Kitting, Build and Testing. So we are back to square one. I am going to give Dell another call.

Edit: Now it is back to Boxing ! This status check has a mind of its own.

I guess I should stop checking the status.

Aha thanks for the info. By the way the laptop is a sweet little thing. Pretty durable and beautiful screen. I JUST CANT GET THE DARN WIRELESS TO WORK so i took out the wireless card and noticed the connectors were goofy so dell is sending out a techy to replace it. Hopefuly it will work.

Thats what UPS has to say about the package...while dell says Dec 6. Hmm I think I'll believe UPS more than dell! lol. I'll post back when the system arrives!

Well I just spoke with a nice english-speaking woman that's actually in Texas (supposedly, definately sounded american either way) and she informed me that my order is at stage 5500 (their progress scoring system... she roughly explained it) along with about 1,200,000 orders that were placed between Sunday night and Monday night.

This could be accurate since me and my buddy placed our orders maybe 20 mins apart in the middle of the night on Sunday and her order number was 50,000+ before mine.

So they're just going nuts trying to get the orders out right now. But there is no outage of Laptop parts on her updates at this time. The only thing still showing as an outage is the 19" non-ultrasharp desktop LCD that they've been including with desktops all the time. Those are currently delaying desktop orders and they are offering consolation upgrades to 19" ultrasharps if you call and complain (because the site didn't say delay and you want it well before Xmas so you can wrap it up and take it to someone as a gift).

And that's all I heard.

The Rep's name is Pam, and she sent me an e-mail with a case # and her managers name (Adam) and extension.

hey everyone that went in on this deal. Keep on posting your progress because i still come on here (eventhough i got it) just to make sure that everyone else got there (the misery loves company idea ). Anyway prostreet hand in there man we are all here for .:thumb-up:

Thanks bro!!! I appreciate the support. The wait is killing me!! We need some sort of AAA meetings and support group for people that are getting screwed and have to wait an abnormaly long time.

prostreetcamaro dont feel too bad man i was extremely excited on checking the ups website and thought it would have been delivered today but too my enormous disaapointmnt the delivery guy never came and ups finally updated its website saying the laptop FINALLY entered my state so tomorrow i am GUARANTEED to get it. 6 days from order to my door is not bad at all!

I ordered these 3 on Sunday night. They'll be a heavy stocking stuffers if the 17" would fit.

The numbers below are the last part of the order numbers. I ordered them around 11pm EST but the times say I ordered them around 5pm, a 6 hour difference. I wonder where they're processing the order from.

Anyways, if the order numbers are given consecutively, then between 4:07 and 4:49, 42 minutes apart, they sold 10,405 units at a rate around 250 per minute. Between 4:49 and 5:04, 15 minutes apart, they sold 13,109 units at a rate of around 870 per minute. Now if they can make them as fast as we can order them...
