The 888E service manual has full parts lists and schematics for both the 888E and the 8880. Haven't been able to download the 8890 manual yet, but more than likely it just has the 8890 stuff.

The 888E maual is 197 pages; the D800P is 144. A good chunk of this is because the 888E manual had parts lists and diagrams for both the 888E and the 8880; the D800P covers only that model.

Ok i downloaded the Service manual... and put it on my site so nobody else has to wait 30+ minutes for it unless they are on dialup... i checked it by downloading myself after i put it there and it was 314k/s compared to 4k/s i got from clevo.....

Thanks! That download clocked in at about a minute. I don't think I had the FTP connection with Clevo establablished in a minute.

8890 Service manual
I could not get onto Clevo's ftp site but yours worked fine. Downloaded in 1.5 minutes at 104 KB/Sec!

Wow, some interesting stuff in the service manual. First of all, as I suspected, both the bluetooth adapter and the Wireless adapters are both USB devices. In fact, I believe that it may be possible to get one of those USB Wireless dongles, and mod it to fit internally int the 8890. Maybe that's how we can get 802.11g into the 8890... Also, it seems that at least the first few versions of Prescott will be supported, since their processor pages were named CPU Northwood and Prescott.

Was there ever any doubt? It's widely known that the wireless uses mini-usb, and AFAIK, there wasn't much conflict about BT either.

The fact that P4EE's are supported is greater proof that Prescott will work (go compare their relative power requirements).

thank you muchly infinity .
Your mirror is appreciated. These forums are awesome.

Has anyone else noted that Clevo's ftp site is down or they changed the directory structure. Not that I need it now infinity has kindly provided a copy but just a bit strange...

If you mean 5680, check out my sticky in the 5680 Tech Support section. BTW, please search first next time.

Can somebody please post a link again where I can download the service manual for the 8890. Clevo's FTP website has definitely changed since my last visit. Even their folders are invisible now, so no luck using CuteFTP.
If somebody has hosted it somewhere were I still can download it, please let me know. And oh, Infinity306's link already seems to be down.

Thanks in advance

Infinity's link is still working fine for me, but I've mirrored it again if you're still having troubles.

Might not be as fast as infinity's, but its a lot better than clevo's.
