when to expect an i9400 with nVidia 7300 go or 7400 go (or a possible i9300 upgrade?

i've been waiting for the 9400 i think maybe after christmas...

when youi guys think nvidia 7400 or 7300 wil be available for upgrade on i9300 or will it ever be?

Since when has nVidia had a 7300 or a 7400???

Edit: I did a search on nVidia's website and saw the GeForce Go 7300, but nothing about a 7400. It also seems like Asus is getting the 7300s, so i'm not sure. From the specs on the 7300 though, i'd take my chances doing an xps2 bios upgrade and getting the GeForce Go 7800GTX. But yeah, you won't see any new models til after christmas, probably around spring.

Any benchmarks on the 7300GO yet?

7400 and 7600 are being released in the spring at the earliest. Its probably better to get an ati mr x1600, as i know this is out jan.

Do these new cards shit on the 6800go in my i9300 ?
no way, does a 6600 shit on a 5900?

actually, um...
The mr x1600 is about as powerful as a mr x800.

edit: but i doubt you will be able to upgrade the vid card.

Dell is in the habit of releasing a new laptop every year. If there is a replacement for the 9300, bet on a year from when the 9300 came out (February-March).

But you never know, if the 9300 sold really well, it could end up like the 600m which has been around for several years.

I don't know why you would want to buy a 7xxx series video card, they don't support the next shader model or direct x 10. In fact, it's exactly the same as the 6800 series with more pipelines. After watching some tech videos of Directx 10, I'm not spending any money on DX9.0c stuff.

You have 6 months to save $$ to buy that laptop with the 7300, so don't hold your breath.

hmm.. 24 December 2006 is after christmas, eh :P

Also why would Dell want to downgrade their notebook? the 7300 is way inferior to the 6800Go (only has 4 pixel pipes and 3 vertex shaders) and would be suitable for the Dell 6000x series, not the beffy Inspirion 9300

DELL has no plans for this at the moment. And no, the 9300 will "probably" not be getting the ULTRA as an upgrade (only through the Hack method).

just get the 7800GTXGo. I ordered one today for 384$ shipped That will beat any new Laptop Dell comes out with.

I second the 7800gtx upgrade to the 9300. Super simple upgrade and the 9300 was really designed to have a dual heatpipe/sink video card support from the outset.

How did you manage this? Cheapest I could get one was $530 last week. Are you in Canada?

Likely around Spring 06 when Yonah peaks its head out along with lowergrade 7800 (like a 7800GS comparable model).

So it's perfectly possible to buy a 9300 now, and upgrade it to a 7800gtx no problem in two years?
