Okay I recieved my 4780 at 1:30pm Eastern Time today.

Upon opening my the box my reaction was .

I loaded windows XP pro in about 40 minutes. The drivers and windows updates took about 1:15 minutes using my DSL for the windows updates. I installed MS Office w/frontpage, Roxio 6, Adobe Acrobat, and a few other standard softwares in about 30 minutes.

Overall Setup: This computer was a sinch. I had no problem getting everything on it to work. I have to test a few more things, but wireless i-net, drivers, and software work without a hitch.

Features:
Keyboard: Stiff and perfect
Screen: Awesome, bright, clear, and quick. No dead pixels.
Heat: Not bad at all. Little warm on left side. Nothing to complain about. So far so good.
Fans: Nothing. Very silent. I can't even hear it when I am in the room with my desktop.
Speed: Unreal. I have had a lot of computers and this is one of the fastest I have ever owned.

I have watched a couple DVDs and I am really impressed. I don't know what to say. I am speechless. I am sooooo happy with my Sager experience so far. I will add more with time. I plan on doing a full set of benchmarks tomorrow. I will add some pictures when I find someone to borrow a digital camera off.

Things that make everything worth while:
The screen RULES
The looks you get
The strudy case and keyboard

More coming soon...

Yes, thanks for the review - that is good to hear. I ordered my 4780 over the weekend, with next day air delivery. I am hopeful it will be here today or tomorrow - but we'll see. Thanks again!

I had a very different experience with my 4780 in regards to fan noise.. Mine would be on about 95% of the time and louder than my old desktop (home built, with a powerful HSU fan)! And my AC adpater also has some noise to it

my fan comes on about 5-10% of the time now thanks to reapplying the headspreader with Ceramique by Artic Silver heatsink compound

Here are my Benchmarks. Let me know if these are decent. I have never done this before.

No reboot, ran after standard usage without closing everything in task manager.
1024-768 32-bit

3dmark2003 with 330 patch:
First Run – 2936
Second Run – 2932

3dmark2001:
First Run – 10147
Second Run – 10179

Aquamark3:
First Run – 22828
Second Run – 22826

GL Excess:
First Run – 6259, 9192, 4121, 6650
Second Run – 6201, 9116, 3987, 6544

As of right now the fan never comes on for more than a couple seconds. It is not hardly noticable when it does. I did not even know the power supply thing could make noise. It is completely silent.

Again, I would like to say that the screen rules. I had a tear in my eye when I watched the benchmarks. It was sooo beautiful.

No heat problems still even after running all the benchmark runs. I love this baby with all of my heart. Best lappy I have ever owned or opperated.

Interesting. My fans cycle off and on during normal usage. It never stays on longer than a minute or two. However, it's on full blast during gaming. Also, the laptop does get to be quite warm while gaming or after an hour of normal usage.
