3438G problem with Firewall

HELLO ALL,
i just bought the 3438G which looks great but i come up with a very annoying problem.
After installing XP Pro, i tried to install the ZoneAlarm firewall and the computer crashed. It wouldnt start until i booted in safe mode and uninstalled the firewall. Then everything was fine.
I still havent connected to the internet to download the latest patches of SP2, but i cant find a reasonable explaination of what is going on.

Any ideas??????????????????

Hi Black

I stay away from Zonealarm, as it's a fussy program (when using active versus passive connections), and requires a total re-install when an update is issued. And people say it's a heap of software junk, anyway.

I just use XP's own firewall (although you need SP2 to use this, of course, which you're wanting to download...).

Or you could use the decent Kerio firewall (www.Kerio.com)

Get yourself a good anti-virus (www.Avast.com) too.
