I'm looking for the lowest costing notebook that there is. It doesn't matter what is in it. If anyone has any ideas of where I can find the lowest costing notebook, please let me know.

Hmm, with $600 you don't have to look for the cheapest one there is. Take a look at the Dell B120, and you can even throw in a few upgrades.

What the heck is that? It's pretty neat, but I'd be the laughing stalk of the Century if people saw me walking around with that.

There are plenty in that ballpark. You can get Toshibas (after rebate), HP's (after rebate) and whatever else... (after rebate). I hate them rebates. As for me, I'd go with an Acer, not the best battery life, but for $600, you're not going for the best. With Acer, you'll get more bang for the buck. No one makes computers like the Taiwanese.

If you don't care of what's in it, you could probably find something that someone will just give to you
