Acer TravelMate 4101WLMi... 5.1 Sound??

Does anyone know if the above mentioned notebook supports 5.1 and if so... how would you configure it, as the rear and center speakers remain dead.

i am using the logitech x-530 speakers by the way and playing music through winamp that displays the 5.1 surround sound logo if that may provide additional information...

no, i do not believe there are many(if any) notebooks that support 5.1 without some sort of external sound card. if your looking for an external sound card check out newegg.com

That is not correct. Many DO support 5.1 sound, though typically it is provided via a digital connection, or is provided by the same ports that one would normally plug in your mic and such to. Yea for new audio chip tricks.

However they dont have 5.1 speaker setups built in typically and if they did it would be a waste since you will never be inbetween them
