Anything like the Asus Z70va?

Thread Starter
Hi there,
I really like the Asus Z70Va. I however, want something with more of a "wow" factor in terms of how it looks. Plus the Z70Va is using the older M6N design. I really like the design of the W3 with the power button but I want something with exactly the same or very close to the same specs of the Asus Z70Va but "better" looking. Preferably another Asus? But any other brand welcome. Would love to see...

P.S. 6lbs and lighter please...

Now, that's going to be a hard find. I can't see anybody coming out with anything like that, in such a small form factor, with an awesome screen like that, and a powerful gpu like that. The only thing that comes to mind is the smaller 14" B series from Sony. 128mb Video and built in camera. Closest thing to an Asus. Here's the datasheet.

Oops...and I failed to mention near the same price. $1995 is a bit steep! Thanks though...

Honestly the Z70Va does have a lot of appeal factor.
Have you seen one in person?

If you're trying to keep the $$$ low, stick with that model.

I read the spec sheet and it says 5.6 lbs with travel drawer. Is this when the CD drive is taken out?
Yup. It's about 6 pounds even with the drive in.

The Asus isnt bad, but this might be what your looking for.
I agree, the 5320 fits your bill nicely.

Their 3880 does too though.
and you can have the Sager painted if you really want to wow people, but that's expensive. A few people have stopped to look at my laptop and oggle and that's never happened to me before if that encourages you. I my comps to remain unnoticed / more professional looking but the 3880 certainly isn't ugly.

You've got too many requirements. Nothing out there is going to have all the power of the Z70VA in a lighter and sexier chassis, for the same price. You've got to raise your price if you want a lighter and better looking Z70VA. The V6VA is everything you're looking for, and you've got to find a way to pay for it if you really want a lighter and sexier Z70VA. There's really no way around it.

ECS 600 looks nice in the pictures, but its crap. The company makes bad motherboards and so far, bad notebooks.

Someone gave a review on it here, do a search and see for yourself.
yeah i know i just saw that... i wrote it while i was searching the net and found it... you have to admit though... the 600 looks like a hell of a deal for the price... and the pics just look beautiful...

but yeah... ecs is the benq of laptops..............

Guess I might have to settle for the Asus then...

I like the Sony Vaio FJ series (beautiful, very light and decent performance). Can't fully customize though and no dedicated video or bluetooth or infrared. Asus just comes so fully loaded. Nothing like it.
You dont settle for an asus, you buy them, lol!

They're much better than sonys. And their specs are so friggin' sweet!!
^ much better than sony....... asus is jsut uncomparable......

if only they had a 7800 in the asus.... that would be the god of all laptops
