Hi all,
i currently own a dell inspiron 8600: 1.8ghz Pentium M, ati 9600pt 128mb gfx, 1gb ram, 15.4 wsxga screen, 60gb 7200rpm HD
i've been wanting to convert to macs for a while, and im probably going to go with a 12" for portability (for classes). I was however unsure of a few things:
how does the apple speed scale compare to pc's? i.e. what is 1.5ghz G4 equal to in terms of pentium 4, and pentium M?
with a 12" notebook, im assuming i wont be able to decently play games like cs:source?
can i easily upgrade the hard-drive to a 7200rpm, like my inspiron, or are upgrades hard on apple notebooks? how about ram?
im using a 1680x1050 screen right now, which gives me a LOT of viewing real estate. How convenient do you find the 12"? Also, how are the screens in general, in terms of quality and brightness?
how about program/game compatibility? i heard horror stories of nothing workin with apples a few years ago, is it a lot better now?
feel free to add on to anything i might be forgetting. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
