Acer 8100 Touchpad dead?

Hi,

Wanted to just ask if you guys have experienced someting like what Im going through right now.

Yesterday I used my lappy without bluetooth-mouse and my touchpad worked just fine. But today after installing new ZoneAlarm firewall, I just happened to use my touchpad. Nothing happened.

So basically I don't know if the pad has not been functioning since yesterday(hardware issue), or did the install of the ZoneAlarm do something. But anyways, if someone has ever experienced similar behaviour would you be kind enough to point me to already excisting thread or give some hint how did you manage to fix this issue.

Cheers,
Ouzo

Hmm,

It seems that it was a software problem. But no rational solution found. Updated bios and then rebooted few times, and now it's functioning again.

Has the touchpad been disabled?
Try fn+F7 (I think it's F7, look for a blue "touchpad-icon" on the F-keys).

Thanks for reply.

No it was not disabled, even tried to disable it then enable it wake it up.

As said, after few bootups it started to work again... odd thing.
