Hi!

First of all, sry for my bad english, I'm from Sweden .

Well, I'm going to buy a laptop, and I have looked alot at the 3438G model from Fujitsu.. Im gonna use my comp as a multimedia-center and as a gaming laptop.. How does it work with this laptop? Any other thoughts about it that I should know before I buy it? Is it possible to change parts on the comp like graphiccard or RAM etc?

The Ram is user-changable if desired, yep.

As far as I know, the graphic card is of the MXM type, I think, which theoretically means that it may be swappable, too, but don't quote me on that.

Are you happy with your Fujitsu-Siemens? Saw on your comment that you got one..

And.. Is 3438G the same as 3438? I see different names in many stores but it seems to be the same comp?

Anyone playing games on 3438G? Is WoW, CS, BF2, Call of Duty, Doom 3 etc playable on this comp?

I can't comment on games, as I'm not a gamer. I use the laptop for high-load, CPU-intensive music production....

... And I'm very happy with it in that line of work!

And yes I think the 3834G is the same as 3438. Have you got a link to the 3438 you're interested in, so we can confirm this?

Someone else will no doubt chime in with regards to how well it games. I should suspect it would be fine, as the soundcard is quite a nice one.

The pages I got is all swedish.. but I think you are right with that it is the same model. Do you know any homepage where I can get the 3438G cheap?

Hogdin , you got mail.
In short: Call of Duty 2 runs great on 1400x1050 with 4xantialiasing. If tv-out works for Instant On Linux it would be great as multimedia center. (cant confirm as I have big problems with Instant on Linux)
If you want Windows media center OS installed, I cant help you. Maybe someone else has tried it?
