Good time to purchase a new 12" PB ?

I'm considering purchasing a new 12" PB, but I'm not sure if the timing is right. I've been hearing a lot about the new Intel versions that are coming, so I'm wondering if I should wait for one of these instead?

Also, what's the opinion on the AppleCare Protection Plan (APP) ? It seems a little pricey, but it would be nice to have if there were problems.

Macrumors says now is a good time to buy a PowerBook, but I'd wait till January to see what's going to happen after Mac World. Unless you need one now.

Applecare is good to a point: it doesn't cover accidental damage. If things go wrong naturally after the first year is up you're covered, but if you break something you're screwed.
