I was thinking of getting the PowerBook 17" but I just have this feeling that the G5 range will come out in the next few months... the problem is when you BuggaZ?!?"

Anyone know when? Care in sharing links, sources, rumours, photos, prototypes of the upcoming G5 range... I'm sure some are as intrested as I am...

Got my Dell XPS now need a Mac!

Um...there will never be a G5 laptop from Apple. There will probably be one more G4 revision, but the next PowerBook/iBooks after that will have Pentium M chips in them.

So what will the G5 Equivalent be called Powerbook Pentium M? Applantino? The new Centrino LOL

Will I be expecting a Pentium M sticker on these as well...

Thanks for that mate...

I did a bit of research well a bit of googling anyway and bumped in to this... http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1368

According to the report Apple will be introducing the Intel-based 15-inch PowerBook during the second week of January hoping to ship in February.

I wouldn't expect them to change the name of the PowerBooks just because of the switch to Intel. I'd actually like to see them keep the GX numbering system too, but I doubt they will. They'll probably tack the Intell processor name on them; PowerBook Yonah, PowerBook Merom, etc. to designate each new revision to the Pentium line.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the rumours, but I guess we'll find out in just over a month either way.
