So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review

One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
abf: If you get the hardware buttons up let me know how . I'm not sure how myself (guess I should read up). For resolution change I manually edit xorg.conf as my M6811 does only 1280x800 I replace 1024x768 under 24 bit. Powermanagement seems to work when I set it but my lappy is mainly a desktop replacement.
Here is the report on what works out of the box:
video (fglrx), wireless (madwifi), sound (alsa)
Stuff that doesn't word:
media card reader, hardware buttons, power management, resolution
stuff that worked under ubuntu:
sound, wireless, resolution, power management, hardware buttons
stuff not working under ubuntu:
media card reader, fglrx
so in the end this distro is about on-par with ubuntu in terms of stuff working. one thing i will give to PCLOS is that it is quite a bit faster than ubuntu, AND it has a control panel that sets it on par with SUSE's Yast.
Now i am gonna go try resolve my power management and resolution issues.
So that took what, all of an hour? how long for install and how long for tweaks?
install took about 1/2 hour. fixing the resolution took 1 minute (edit xorg.conf), i've given up hope on the card reader (0 minutes), i am still googling for possible solutions on the power management, also tried a few ideas to no avail (2 days and counting), hardware buttons...
ok, i am a Gnome user and i don't know jack about KDE....where do i go to assign media buttons?
