HELP SAMSUNG SCREEN Horizontal Line..

Hey there i got my XPS system last week and everything seems OK besides certain parts of the screen like the left side where the ICONS are is not as bright as opposed to the right side of the screen. Minimal Light Leakage tho. Its a Samsung Screen.

MY bigger problem seems to be...That there is like 3 horizontal Lines that seem to see CUT across the screen when there is fast graphics or a movie playing on the screen. About 1/3 of the screen from top. Im not sure do you think thats a driver issue im using Modded laptopvideo drivers and i get 5229 on 3DMArk.

You really cant see it unless i play a movie or intense graphics almost like the screen has rectangle panels that are stuck togethe to make the whole screen............ I dont know its its Hardware or Driver issues.

Thats my only Gripe with my XPS 2ghz, 1GB, 80 5400 Drive

Any suggestions..If so how can i gat a Dell guy to check it out. I have the one year warranty but not sure about the home service or is that included. What would you do? in this case?

I think what you are experiencing is the effect known as "tearing". It basically happens when your FPS is > than your refresh rate. So, anything greater than 60fps will cause tearing. One way to get rid of in games is turning on VSync. However, It's weird that you are experiencing it in movies as well. Most movies are ~25fps or 30fps, which shouldnt cause tearing..hmm..

call them and explain. they will try to help you troubleshoot and see if it can be fixed. if not, ask them for a replacement, but do it as soon as you can since you just got it.

they will probably send someone to the house to replace the lcd, or gpu if its not working properly, that is if you home at home warranty.

did you change drivers?

Well i just tried different drivers and there is Constant Tear in the movies i watch its ridiculous. When the screen pans fast you see them all over the screen..horizontal black lines all over the movies. I thought it was at a certain length of the screen but its all over the images. grrrrrr I think thats whats been happening in my games to. I still wonder if its the GPU or Screen????

Well called DELL and they told me to Download thie drivers and yes the problem was solved no TEARING during movie playback. So that means i can't use the Modded drivers which sucks. Im gonna run 3DMark and see what i get with Stock Drivers. I used to get 5229 with modded ones without Overclocking.

I wonder am i the only one withthat issue when using modded drivers? Unless i installed them Wrong which i dont think i did.

Thx...
