Just ordered Go-l Hollywood! - Page 3

Beakmyn, I think you're crossing Michael's and L's. Michael's has apparently been around for a while, mostly as a parts house that also put together desktops. This is who has the customer living about 2 hours away.

L is a different company that popped up last summer. So far as I know, MEDDUDE is their only customer so far.
Yes, you're right. For some reason I thought Michael was the guy that ran Go-L then I remembered it was supposedly run by some lady.

If you stick with the tried and true

The company that moos or name that's in blue

What kind of greatness is lurking out there

Does anyone care

I'm willing to take a leap

& hope I don't step in the crap of sheep!

Just got a phone call from go-l computers telling me that my computer went out today UPS GROUND and will be here on the 8th! I was told that they would overnight it today and they lied! I will be out of town basically from the 1/6 thru 1/15 and there is a LAN party on the 16th. PIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSED!

I am currently contemplating with my wife on whether to cancel my 3rd lappy and wait until the 8790 is released.

That's a real disappointment. I was hoping to see what they have to offer, to see if there really is anything more to them than the hype.

Its really inexcusable for them to send it out GROUND without telling you beforehand, even more so when you were told overnight. And what's with taking 6 days to get to you, where do you live, Outer Timbuktoo? That's ridiculous!! Especially after the flu excuse and the only ship on Thursdays and Fridays. I've never heard of such routines. Maybe they share an office and they only get to use it on Thursdays and Fridays. Very weak.

Anyone wanna bet that the machine gets "Lost" in the shipping. Sorry but I just have no faith in these guys.
This doesn't bode well for Go-L. I mean, having a good machine is one thing, but the backbone of one's company is your service and support. If they're not taking care of matters now, I don't foresee them lasting very long. Ground vs. Overnight... that's a crazy mix-up. Someone was working in Shipping on a major New Year's hangover or something.

If they continue this sort of behavior, they'll find out real quick that pretty webpages aren't the only thing they need in order to build a successful company. Unfortunate to hear that they screwed this up. I was kind o' rooting for them to come through.

If they shipped it out UPS, did they provide you w/ a tracking number? If they can't give you a tracking number, then they're full o' !#$%! I used to work for UPS and when ppl would complain to me about not receiving packages, I'd ask them for a tracking number. More often than not, there never *was* a tracking number. It was amazing how many times companies told customers that it'd been sent, but actually hadn't. I'd be all over them for a tracking number. That way, you can coordinate w/ UPS, too, as for receiving it (since you'll be gone) or rerouting it to another address.

Jeez, you've really had a tough run of it with your purchases, Med. You've got a lot of spunk to have tried both Michael's and Go-L. The important thing is that you get your $$ back if you flush the Go. I'm hanging onto the hope that the 8790 will be the answer to what a lot of us want in a notebook.

Good luck!

I think Meddude is pulling our leg about even ordering the systems. I am not sure if he think he will become like a God on these forums for taking "risks" or what. I don't believe him for a minute. Show me some proof of the orders and I will believe it.

Thanks for the support from most, but as for BUD212002 I will give a link with the tracking #.
http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/index.jsx

Tracking # 1ZY365940394333939

I was worried about them charging me a 15% restocking when I returned, but after checking with AMEX I have no worries.

I honestly have to say I am feeling pretty optimistic about him recieving the laptop. If you check the tracking number details it says the package is 17lbs. That seems about right for a laptop and all the accesories. I dont think this will get mysteriously lost in transit, because no way would go-l be able to get ups to play along in a scam like that. I am pretty sure he will get his computer. Whether it is what was advertised... we will have to wait and see. It's also pretty apparent they the customer support over there blows. I sure hope nothing goes wrong with this laptop, otherwise he will prob be in tech support hell with go-l.

No, he'll be on the phone to AMEX getting his refund. Then AMEX will be on the phone to Go L getting their money back and perhaps cancelling their account.

That is exactly what is going to happen. Marquisdarquis is on the ball!

Well, it appears to be a real notebook package (17lbs) with a delivery date of the 8th, and that stuff is determined by UPS, not the sender. Hopefully the box isn't stuffed with rocks and actually contains a notebook.

edit: By the way, next time take a screenshot of the tracking number page but don't post the number itself (edit the image to blot it out also). It's against the terms and conditions of UPS to make that information public.

CGameProgrammer, contact me when you get tired of that beast so you can sell it to me =).

Could just be a box with a couple of bricks in it

I got a rock...

Oh man...if I got a box full of bricks from some fly-by-night PC Company - I'd ... well ...

Pain...lots of pain....

Go-l computers called today to deeply apologize about the UPS ground rather than overnight and said they would make it up with a 3 year warranty-$299 option, which I am totally grateful for.

I have contacted them many many times and I gotten in touch with someone quickly everytime. They truly seem to be sincere and I believe it will reflect future customer service.

WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES.

It will be delivered on Thur. and I will do a full review.

We want pictures too. Especially the stickers on the bottom.
