Dell Bluetooth 350 Firmware Upgrade without Installing Toshiba Stack

Thread Starter
Does anyone know if it is possible to update the firmware only, without installing the Toshiba stack?

Sure. All you need to do is extract the driver package with Winzip. Once you have the uncompressed files, look inside for the 2KXP directory, and inside of that, the DFU directory.

Make sure you plug in your laptop and run dfu.exe. It takes a little bit, 10 minutes or so, but it should work.

Not sure it was quite as long as 10 minutes but it works, did it without messing about with anything else like has been suggested elsewhere (I use the WIDCOMM drivers).

Okay, I'm sure this is a dumb question but...if you dont use the toshiba stack, what stack do you use???

That is certainly debatable...

Considering the latest Toshiba stack/firmware upgrade avail on Dell's ftp site, the Toshiba stack works better for me as of now.

really?

I'll try it next time I wax my hdd. I have the ms bt desktop and the toshiba stack sucked with it... widcomm worked flawlessly. If the toshiba one works in the future that would be fine by me.

Yeah, I upgraded the firmware but stuck with the WIDCOMM drivers. Before them I used the MS ones (the previous Toshiba one were shite). Might have to try these new Toshiba ones, you sure they are any good?

Right, they were worse than the first lot! Back to the WIDCOMM...
