Dell Warranty Void IF??

Hi all.... I,m getting an xpc m170 soon which I will be using for gaming and music...tough combination!! My question is whether or not my warranty will be vioid if I re-install windows and place a partition on the laptop. Will I loose any support from them?? I asking here before I call them.....

The hardware warranty is separate from your software warranty, so reinstalling Windows and repartitioning the drive will not void the warranty on the notebook.

However installing a different version of windows that did not come with your notebook will mean you will not receive support from dell unless you reinstall the version that came with your computer.

Thanks for the info.....I am assuming that with XPS m170 Ill be getting the xp disk so I can re-install once I re-partition to two drives. My main concern would be that Dell would say I did something wrong on the install and void any legitiment claims or at least not want to help becaused of it!!

Dont worry about it Dells not that bad Sony Vaio support on the other hand...
