Greetings to everyone here!
I finally decided to bite the bullet and get the Area-51m7700 from alienware. I have heard tremendous things about their computers over the past few years. I really need a laptop that can somewhat replace my desktop. I am moving to Japan for atleast 1 year, and I just cannot ship my rig, for I fear some lazy ass airport caddy, or $5 an hour bell hop will have their way with it. Everything in it is also watercooled, so that might be a problem as well. Not to mention the space limitations in Japan etc... blah blah blah... you get the picture. I need a kickass laptop that can come close to my desktop. (see my desktop at slizone : KittyPlaysFPS - I recently broke the 14,000 barrier on 3Dmark05)
So I turned to Alienware... it seemed to be my only real option.
I have heard people talk about alternatives like Seager and others, but honestly. Even though they may be the "same" in performance, who wants an ugly looking bootleg laptop. The aw laptops look really sleek and professional. Not like some guy just made it in his garage one day for kicks.
Well, the estimated ship date is around Dec 16th. It will be nice if it gets here in time for x-mas. I am in GA which isn't too far from their FL base so maybe the Fed-Ex gods will bless me.
