Just checked the Alienware website - the dlivery times for pc's have been removed. For those of us that ordered during the delivery times that were posted on the website and Alienware did not honor the times, here is to you Alienware

actually it´s almost always so that if you order something just a month before christman it will get delayed no matter what. and that is not something we should blame alienware for, blame all the spoiled children that actually gets an alienware for christmas=)

If a company puts it in writing like Alienware did on their website they should stand behind it. There were no conditions added to their wording. If you are not going to stand behind it, don't put it in writing. Once again, a fact that Alienware is not customer oriented.

then take your time and read the disclaimer:
"Prices, configurations, and availability may change without notice."

so when a company becomes swarmed with orders, so many that they are not able to ship them all in time, they automatically becomes not consumer oriented?
that is very wrong i think. as i earlier said: blame all the other customers for ordering at the same time as you, because ultimately it´s they who made your alienware ship later.

Yeah I noticed that they removed the shipping dates last night. How convenient for them.

I placed my order on November 29th under the "shipping desktops within 7 buisness days" (payment received on December 3rd). Friday the 12th was day 7. Here on buisness day 10 they haven't even begun to build it.

Should I call them today and seek some kind of compensation?
Cause it's beginning to look like I should be expecting something else from Santa this Christmas.

maybe AW should just give it to you for free for all your pain and suffering.

it is a bunch of b.s.....I don't care how many orders they got....if they felt like too many orders came in, they should have taken that sign down and shipped the previous orders within those "7 business days". mine has been 10 and its on phase 8. I was expecting to have my computer here today but I guess I have to wait phase 9,10,11,etc. I was expecting a christmas gift..not a new years gift.

I don't understand how it takes more than 10 business days to put a computer together...some of those phases are crap. "check cables and cd's" "waiting for configuration"

coolbreeze - what phase has your order been on?
True true..i agree, most of their phases are crap. They make absolutley no sence, and how the professional puts the comp together...its a freakin assembly line. I dont understand it, and why they cant to this is beyond me...

yea...I got some good news today though..computer will be built and shipped by around tuesday/wednesday. so maybe ill get it around the 29th..when it should be at my door tomorrow =/

You guys think I should call AW and ask them about the status and when I will get it?

BTW I'm getting Star Wars Galaxies and a prepaid card for it and KOTOR.
Star Wars Galaxies is mmrpg (pay online)

it was cool but when i played it had lots of bugs good luck hope you like it i am shure that they had fixed them

Can anyone give me info on the game not a link to the website but a personal experience of the game. I know that if you want to be a jedi you have to play through the game normally and a message randomly appears and say that you have unlocked FSCS or something. I want to start out as a rifleman or bounty hunter and then once the jedi is unlocked I will make a sith character. Sith is so cool b/c of all the powers.

Just to let you know that I am not biased toward one computer company or another - I own a Toshiba laptop, an Alienware Area51 desktop, and just took delivery of a Sager 4780 today (3.2GHz HT, 1 GB RAM, DVD-R, etc). I ordered it on Saturday. To be honest, I did not order an Alienware this time because I think they are suffering growing pains and may not be the company they once were. They were the high-quality, quick-delivery, excellent customer service company when I bought my desktop from them a couple years ago. Now it seems they are just another major manufacturer of computers - I am sure they are making boatloads of money, but I knew there would be problems when I saw my first AW system in a BestBuy.

Before responding, remember I am a fan and an owner of an Alienware! No flames please.

Hey MaDsK1LLz...I landed on phase 8 first thing Tuesday morning.

I called wednesday just to make sure that my computer would still be shipping this week or early next week...which they told me in one of my prior phonecalls. Anyways...they said I should no longer expect it until January. Like everyone here...I didn't order a lappy...I got a desktop. Maybe the desktops are just the ones being held up.

Keep in mind Coolbreeze that the laptop manufacturing facility and the desktop manufacturing facility are completely different and are run in different ways. That said, conversing with people on these forums will not give you any insight into the production of your desktop unfortunately.

This is a notebook specific forum but we welcome any and all input you would like to share. Especially some pictures of that monster you've got coming to you.
