i broke the battery connector. will complete care take care of this?

Hi Guys

My 700m was inside my bag when i dropped the bag. the laptop couldnt turn on after that and i realized it because something in the battery connector was broken. (a small black portion) . the laptop works fine without the battery but when i use the adapter with the battery, i am stuck wuth "warning: the battery cannot be recognized"

i have 3 years complete care with home service. so will dell take care of this for free?

also can somebody post a pic of their battery connector (both the one in the battery and the one in the laptop). i just wanna see which connector is broken because i only found 1 broken piece. thx

thx guy. i called dell and they are sending technician to replace both my motherboard and battery and its covered under complete care warranty. i am glad i bought it otherwise this'll be costly. so the warranty has paid for itself within a year and i still have 2 years

conclusion: get complete care warranty. you wont regret it

Yeah, I got the same warranty as you - 3 yr complete care. I've already used it once to get the back of my screen cover replaced, so I'm hoping the $370 (or whereabouts) that the warranty cost will be worth it!

there is a caveat to this: if the broken connector you are talking about is on the battery itself, then CC only covers for up to 1 year (max battery warranty coverage) even though you might have 2 or 3 yr CC coverage.

since the damage, i'm assuming, was on the computer itself, then it is covered under CC for the length of the CC.
